Mrs. Ferrars is a minor character in Sense and Sensibility. She is the mother of Fanny Dashwood, Edward Ferrars, and Robert Ferrars. She is the mother-in-law of John Dashwood, Elinor Dashwood Ferrars, and Lucy Steele. She has one grandchild, Harry Dashwood, so far.

She is a bad-tempered, unsympathetic woman who shares all the foibles of Fanny and Robert. She is determined that her sons should marry well, even though the late Mr. Ferrars left them a ,[1] and she fixes on Miss Morton as the bride of first Edward and then Robert.

Besides an estate in Norfolk worth one thousand pounds a year (clear of land tax), which becomes Robert's, she gives £10,000 to Fanny and £10,000 to Edward, and considering the financial assistance she gives Robert and Lucy after their marriage, there must be more money which she has yet to part with.
