Lady Lucas is a minor character in Pride and Prejudice. She is the wife of Sir William and the mother of Charlotte Collins, Maria Lucas and several other children. She is the mother-in-law of Mr. Collins, a clergyman.

Lady Lucas's first name is unknown, but as she is the wife of a knighted gentleman, she is addressed as "Lady Lucas". Sir William's title is not hereditary, so his eldest son will not receive it when he dies.

Plot[]

She and her husband were overjoyed when Charlotte became engaged to Mr. Collins and that he was to inherit Longbourn due to the entail. Lady Lucas made a very macabre remark about waiting for Mr. Bennet to die.

Description[]

Lady Lucas is described as "a good kind of woman, not too clever to be a valuable neighbor to Mrs. Bennet." She is a valuable source of gossip.
